To get the most out of your heating or cooling unit, it’s important to take good care of it. Take a look at our top tips we recommend for every customer!

Power Saving Tips

It’s important to save power in order to get the most out of your heating or cooling unit. It will prolong your unit’s life and save you money on each electricity bill and in the long run.

  • Set the thermostat a little higher. The lower the temperature your air conditioner is set at in a hot season, the more energy it requires to run.
  • Keep up with the recommended maintenance schedule. Our team will check if everything is running properly for maximum efficiency.
  • Replace your air conditioner if yours is 10 years or older or requires costly repairs. Go with a new unit that is designed for energy efficiency.
  • Close your blinds and window shades to keep the sun out. If not, the sun will heat up your space and cause your unit to need more power.

Air Conditioner Tips

If your air conditioning unit isn’t working like it should, there are some ways to troubleshoot the problem. If none of these first steps help, call us to take a look at it!

  • Look to see that the air conditioning unit is connected to a power source and that the power source is turned on and working.
  • Check your air filter. These need to cleaned or replaced regularly to ensure your air conditioning unit is working well.
  • Make sure there are no leaves blocking the unit outside. This can permit your air conditioner from working properly.
  • Check your thermostat to see if your your air conditioning unit is turned on and there are no errors showing.

Maintenance Tips

Routine maintenance is essential to the well being of your heating and cooling units. Follow these maintenance tips to  to ensure quality heating and air conditioning all year long.

  • Schedule professional maintenance with one of our technicians twice a year (once during fall, once during spring) to ensure efficiency.
  • Make sure your unit has the proper clearance it needs. Schedule an appointment with us to see if you need duct cleaning.
  • Regularly clean or replace your air filter. This should be done every 45-75 days. Replace/clean it sooner if you have allergies.
  • Remove anything the may be blocking your air conditioning unit from the outdoors such as grass or fallen leaves.
